They don't want an inquiry because they can't control an inquiry and its out in public.
In committee the Libs and NDP can vote to have it put behind closed doors. Vote to not do a public release. They can vote to not add witnesses. Or as we've seen before vote to shut the committee down, or burn the clock on it.
So yeah Trudeau doesn't want an inquiry.
