They can be banned but will replicate in numbers. They can't be reasoned or bargained with. But if you simply ignore them or tune them out, they will shrivel up into a little ugly baby pennywises and their eyes will glaze over for a while
This is how we subdue these types. They feed off of the spotlight. Just don't give it to them, and then you just have the odd unsavory post once in while, rather than pages of them and the endless push back exchanges
People with unsavory views/opinions will always exist and share internet spaces with us. Cancelling them doesnt work on this medium and even if we could, it would make us weak. It would mean our resistance to differing/fringe opinions, however misled, is frail. We just have to thicken our hides and learn to deal with their existences effectively in order to minimize them.
A thread dedication is pretty well the opposite of how we ought to deal with them.

Please indicate where I have done the above! I have had a differing opinion and sustained debate on them. You may not agree with my approach and I am fine with that.
I have tried to be polite and in the times I was not I have apologized. That is far from common on this forum, If I have been wrong I have fessed up and corrected myself.
I challenge you to go back and read the vitriol that was directed my way and say that I am the problem. Most posts were not even on the topic being discussed.
When I see something I wish to post on I will. If not then I just read as I have for years.
Look in the mirror for your own actions before judging others. That may be hard, but I think it would help a lot of posters.
