Fruit contains fiber which slows the rate of absorption and increases satiation. It also pushes it through the digestive system. The combination of these factors makes it fairly self limiting from a diet perspective and can in most situations is healthy to say you can eat all you want.
Juice on the other hand is just soda with better branding.
If people only ate fruit as their source of sugar diabetes likely isn’t an issue.
