I could buy that kind of argument say 20 years ago. But today, you get a meeting with someone and have no idea who they are. First thing you're doing is googling them, right? You want to know who your meeting and something about them?
Now, imagine your a politician...that's at least doubly the case. Everyone is googling everyone else if they've never met them. There's absolutely no way that a politician can try to claim ignorance. It's preposterous.
