Anyone who has ever played in front of a terrible goalie knows everyone adjusts how they play . And everyone is more tentative in decision making , because one mistake means a goal
Whether they should just “play their game “ is debatable , but human nature is to adapt to what is going on .
Would you rather the Flames give up 30 shots a night and 5-6 goals but score more ?
It’s why goaltending is so important . Great or good - you want consistency
