Those games had zero pressure. They pro athletes and want to be the best. I think this is the worst time to bring in a young goalie. Make him the backup next year and see if he can take the starter spot. He isn't a forward that can be benched or play limited minutes. His only way out is getting pulled if he is getting blown out.

The exact same argument could have been made when Matt Murray was called up to the Penguins, or Binnington to the Blues.
Or going further back - when Mike Vernon was called up to the Flames in 1986.
If Dustin Wolf was a first round pick putting up these numbers it's probably not even a discussion - he'd be in the league already.
Kochetkov has been good for Carolina - worse numbers in the AHL for his career.
Flames lost to Mads Soogard a week ago - worse numbers in the AHL this year.
Spencer Knight barely played in the AHL - but in those limited games Wolf outperformed him too.
Those guys are all from the same draft - no reason Wolf couldn't have a look too.
