I'm all for giving him a shot to see what they have this season. Just when the team's fate is determined. The doom and gloomers think it already has been but it hasn't.
Those game(s) might not be important to the team then but they will be important to him on leaving a good impression. It's not like he will half-ass it because the game means little for the team.
Yes, his stats this year in the AHL are impressive. But that doesn't mean they're guaranteed to translate over to the NHL. If they did Phillips would have lit up goalies the games Sutter did play him.
