Everyone is looking at the Wild as being the team to catch and while that's obviously a viable option given the two games left with them, I also got my eyes on a couple different avenues.
Seattle-CGY is 4points back. SEA has a game in hand. Losers of two in a row. Do they have what it takes to power thru and hold down their spot? I'm not convinced they're that good of a team. Still 3 games vs the Stars and 2 vs VGK. They got 4 games in six nights next week all on the road. That's a tough stretch.
LAK-CGY is 6 back, games are even. LA has lost two in a row, has three tough road games in next 5 days. Flames still has two games against the Kings.
Colorado-Injury depleted. Only 1 point up on CGY but 4 in hand. Been waiting for Avs to pull away and I still think they will, but maybe they don't either. They can't stay healthy. 3 vs SJ and 3 vs Ari isn't good for CGY though.
With the Flames securing 3 of 4 points the last two nights, it's kind of opened up more routes to the playoffs than what we were looking at after the Philly loss.
Still lots of hockey to be played. Flames are obviously in tough, but the white towel shouldn't be in anyone's hands right now.
