In 1989-90, Sakic had 102 points and was -40. In 1984-85, Mario had 100 points and was -33.

McD was a plus 15 or something last year in the playoffs when it mattered most, and that was with Mike Smith in net. I haven’t checked but I’m sure Mario and Sakic were improved in that stat as well come playoff time. The narrative around here is that all McD cares about are his personal stats in the regular season. I do think he does care about that, despite how much he plays it off… because he’s driven to be the best… BUT he cares waaay more about winning a cup, and yes, that can be for selfish reasons as well. I’m not saying he isn’t selfish, but every player is to some degree.
