1. We are in our teams win now window. Because of contracts, this is likely the best possible season. Window essentially closed when lindholm requires a raise. To do nothing this season is essentially admitting defeat.
2. If you were to admit defeat, then the logical move would be to sell pieces that don't fit into the next competition window. If we're retooling instead of rebuilding, that next window is probably in 3-4 seasons when the cap is slated to increase rapidly. Toffoli is chief of these and likely to fetch a good price. Imo hanifin can't be expected to stay beyond this contract, so him too.
3. If you won't admit defeat, then we should be making any moves we can to maximize our chance this season, prior to additional cap woes from massive huby contract and the fair weegar raise. I wouldn't sell our 1st, but put pretty much everything else on the table.
Doing nothing in our current situation essentially assures missing the playoffs or early (5> games) playoff exit, and reduces our chances with this roster. Selling has the duel benefit of changing our team makeup and thus the competition window, while also adding some excitement for the best draft in a decade. Buying at least adds some excitement.
