Out of 36 top point producers on playoff teams only 8 of them are over 30 years old. It's clear the trend today is YOUNG = GOOD. Flames are old and their coach looks down on young talent. Has made it pretty clear this season. He will rather play Lucic and Lewis over Zary, Phillips or Pelletier. This is not a matter of if you like Sutter or not, it's more about if you care about winning and long term success. Majority of the fans around here would agree the flames are totally boring to watch right now, yet they still want to keep Sutter, because he won 2 cups 10 years ago with his boring brand of hockey. Lets not turn into Oilers, living off their ancient relics from time long forgotten...
Not disagreeing with the point you are making on players over 30 however only 7 of the players on that list are under 25. Feels like this highlights that you need top players regardless of age and that most players are at the top of their game in their prime.
