But that is with the benefit of hindsight and that we had to spend a 1st to move Monahan.

I don't want to derail this thread, but something tells me the way they treated Gio played it's part in Tkachuk's and Gaudreau's decision making. Maybe I am wrong but to me it's not a good look to let him walk like that when you at the same time try to pretend to be a contender.
