American Idol really highlights the oddity of who makes it big in music. With all the publicity and help of the show/label I would have thought it would make you an automatic star, but after what 20 years of idol I don’t think I could name 3-4 winners and maybe 10 contestants.
I do remember one contestant Melinda Doolittle who was unbelievable. I thought for sure she would have a big career regardless of where she finished but haven’t heard of her since the show.
