I think the best approach, in finding a dietician, is to ask your GP to refer you to one. That way, your GP, who has all the data on you personally, can be kept in the loop.

In my experience, getting rid of visceral fat involves, not only diet, but serious lifestyle changes. I managed to attain a new reduced weight level by having a heart attack, and getting treatment from the best heart hospital staff in the country i.e. at the Foothills Hospital. Hopefully you don't have to go through the same process to finally make the necessary changes.

From my experience, reducing saturated fats, less sugar and alcohol, becoming more physically active, and drinking more water are some of the keys to success. As for diet, I think all things in moderation is a good rule of thumb.

Also, as someone pointed out, listening to what your aging body is telling you, and seeking help in a timely manner is important.

Anyway, good for you for taking this step.
