Ketosis worked for me back in 2015 when I was trying to stop being a fat bastard, because fat is filling and I love eating meat. It does dry you out and make you look leaner too without all the water weight. It also helps people that are dealing with insulin resistance.
But with that said, keto still ultimately works based off of 'calories in, calories out' and anyone who says otherwise is lying. However, there's a satiety advantage depending on your macronutrient sources for your calories, and it's important not to overlook that. You could eat 200 fewer calories a day than your TDEE and lose weight, but it's gonna be a hell of a lot harder and you're gonna be really hungry all the time if you do it by eating your calories in chocolate and potato chips.
