Should be fine, there's no additional costs for processing, and you'll be shocked at how fast it gets through.
My word of advice is to find out what kind of unit he's in. If its a combat role, the thoughtful thing is to make sure that he has some to share out with his bodies.
When I was over seas' my old man sent me a couple of bottles of scotch so that I could share a christmas drink with some of the other guys in my unit. It eased the tension for sure.
