The closest comparable traded in that 20-21 offseason would have been Sam Reinhart coming off 90 points in 103 games (60 point pace). So less prolific but similar players and Reinhart was 2 years younger.
Reinhart returned a top 10 protected 2022 1st round pick (28th overall) and Devon Levi.
The other closest comparable from that offseason was Pavel Buchnevich, he was coming off 93 points in 122 games (62 point pace) and he returned a second round pick and Sammy Blais.
So yeah I think it's safe to say Gaudreau was getting a 1st and prospect as trade return at that point, maybe an extra mid round pick, but wouldnt have been earth shattering return.
