I definitely think he needs a longer leash, but man, if he only thrives in a run & gun environment, what would you call tonight?

Honestly, I think Huberdeau might have been a product of either his division or his linemates. He throws passes into no man's land, for an 'elite passer' the majority of his passes suck.

Overall I thought Markstrom was decent. Of the 5 goals I'd say he likely should have had maybe 2 of them.

But man alive is he wild in there. His decision making is baffling.

On a breakway he turtles back into his goal giving acres of net to shoot at and a half-dozen angles, in other scenarios he's out there challenging and throwing himself wildly at every shot.

He looked like a confused and slightly senile off-brand Hasek at times.

But he has the ability, he just needs to tighten it up. And he's not a rookie, he's got to figure it out.

Overall, if I were a neutral I'd have loved that game, but as a Flames fan who has been seeing this night in and night out and sees a team that is scratching and clawing for a wildcard spot? And playing a different brand of hockey every night?

Lets just say that it doesnt instill me with a lot of confidence one way or the other.

Tonight's version of the Calgary Flames isnt making any noise in the playoffs. If they even manage to make it.
