I was under the impression his contract was done post WC, and needed a new one for going forward.
The CSA would've been shouting from the rooftops if they signed him to an extension at any point. That announcement never happened, only today a clumsy confirmation from the CSA after Herdman sent out his statement...so you have to wonder if he orchestrated this with some pals in the New Zealand federation, to speed along those at the indecisive, glacial moving CSA in the last few days.
However it's happened, good for Herdman. 100% of the credit for turning that group of players, in spite of a spineless and slimy national association, into a WC qualifier by doing things his way.
