You can argue that this is what led to the Flames delusional/mediocre endeavors from 2008 to 2014.
But present-day Sorokin (92.3% in a league with an average around 90.6%) is a lot better than post 2007 Kiprusoff (91.0% in a league with an average of around 91.3%).

This. The difference is Sorokin. That is why the Isles are OK with just barely making the playoffs.
