Also, even if he did play great for the Canucks how exactly does that help them? They want to be as bad as possible...they also could use that 4M to gain more assets if they didn't have to pay him. I'm sure Vancouver would have rather not got him at all...it's a +value towards the Islanders.

Their points per 60 on the PP is identical over those three years - Horvat just got double the PP ice time. (Horvat: 4.0 / Beauvillier: 3.9)
You can continue to act like he's trash but Beauvillier is an alright player that could have some upside. Similar to Bennett I think he needed a change of scenary to a less restricitve offensive system for his offense to show up, I could see that being Vancouver.
Honestly the next 80 games before next trade deadline are the perfect pump and dump opportunity for the Canucks and Beauvillier before he's a UFA.
For the Islanders this is the ultimate buy high and sell low trade.
