Beauvillier makes over 4M next season, somebody elsewhere made a good point. Islanders would probably need to pay for someone to take that contract in the offseason. Worst case they lose every game until the TD and trade Horvat for slightly worse...maybe better prospects/worse pick. They still shed over 4M for next season.
Honestly the Islanders could miss the playoffs or make it to the conference finals...they are an odd team
