I was very curious about the kiss. My interpretation was that she was so overwhelmed by what was happening around her that she froze in the terror of the situation and knowing she is going to die immediately. Someone else I talked with thought she was already getting controlled by the fungus. I didn't see that but I can understand that interpretation.
