That's my go to. Because science and because you can't understand it yet. But I also never forget to say I don't know. Otherwise, he'll ask about everything and expect a legit answer. God help me when this strategy ceases to work.

I feel for Puxlut. I got similar questions as well. But my 4 year old asked not just about glass, but he was clever enough to ask about ice as well. Then... there's plastic and acrylic which I tacked on to attempt to overload that young mind into submission (didn't work). This was probably the day he learned about the different states of matter in preschool.

What's also scary is that the younger one is absorbing knowledge faster than the older one and already asking more complicated questions than my son did at the same age.
