Vladar is 9-0-3 in his last 12 . 9-0-3!!
And he's been only marginally better numbers-wise than Markstrom. I do think he's been better in net overall. But given the vast chasm of difference in their records over that time with not too different positional numbers it is quite easy to deduce that yes the team damn well plays differently in front of Vladar than Markstrom
Why are people burying their heads in the sand around this issue? this is Edmonton-esque levels of denial

I think every one in the organization is smart enough to know that you don't handle a goalie confidence issue (both how the goalie plays and how the team plays in front of said goalie) by announcing it to the media and making it worse.
They gave Markstrom lots of time because his ceiling is higher than Vladars but it's clear from them running Vladar lately that he is the guy. Of course they don't want to play a goalie back to back who has never played a full season so Markstrom got the easier game. He got zero run support from the team but also was not playing at a good level.
