Ya, and I don't buy that excuse. I can guarantee tunneling under centre, given all the utilities(including the ones they just relocated 10 years ago) is going to be a delay and boondoggle. Elevating the line avoids all the traffic disruption, keeps centre st wide open for buses and traffic, and is far less an impediment on the urban realm than a train running up the middle.

This is far less intrusive, and even if it did cost a little more(and I'm not convinced), would be well worth the money.
