In high school, we went on a class trip to Ottawa. Two friends and were out looking around and we found a parking garage with a ramp circling up to the top.
We went to the top, and decided to take the ramp down, walking on the inside to avoid a car if it came, because we weren't stupid

.
Then we noticed the ramp was connected to the support pillar in the middle by a series of horizontal concrete posts that were like steps, only not connected to each other.
We then proceeded to walk down these "steps" in the winter, all the way to the bottom, with nothing but space in between. They were icy, and if we had slipped, we would have fallen all the way to the concrete floor on the bottom.
We made it to the bottom somehow, and the last "step" was too high, but someone had conveniently left a dumpster right below it, so we climbed down onto that and then onto the ground floor.
I still don't know how we made it to the bottom without one or all of us cracking a skull open.
