Watching the video I was even less troubled than the print version. This kid played under 7 minutes. Sutter wanted to talk about the game, if anything. He probably would have appreciated questions on Toffoli or Andersson or Hanifin - the guys who made an impact. The point of part one of his answer was “you’re asking me about a kid who played a small role, so I’m giving you the bare minimum of what he did”. The point of part two was “there’s a lot of time for this kid to play and a lot more that he’s going to do that’s worthy of a real question”.

Sutter has his faults and he obviously has a reluctance to play kids, especially smaller ones. But his response wasn’t about that IMO. It was about coming off a big win and getting questions that weren’t really related to the win.
