People thinking that Sutter might not be putting players or the team in the best position to succeed, doesnt mean that they think he is rooting for certain players to fail.
Sutter just believes that these undersized young forward prospects are not at a point in their development where they can help the team succeed on a consistent basis, that doesn't mean he is rooting for them to fail though.
The difference of opinion is that there are a lot of people that think in the NHL that you almost need this younger, ELC talent to succeed and that most teams that have won in a salary cap era (including Sutter's Kings teams) have relied on that u-22 talent to win.
To me thats actually the most frustrating part. Sutter didn't used to be this negative about young players. The 03-04 and 05-06 Flames were young teams. Both his Kings cup winning teams had a lot of U-23 talent.
Even in the media in the past when he was negative in the media it was always the teams veterans and the teams stars, never the younger players. This attitude with young players actually seems new to this stop in Calgary (which makes me think it's more a disagreement with Tre drafting smaller players but that's an assumption).
