As for the 14/15 Flames - the stars up front were Johnny, Monahan and Hudler (all Feaster guys), but the heavy lifting all year was done by Backlund, Brodie and Gio. Even Glencross had 28 points in 53 games for us that year - another Darryl signing that I forgot.
Darryl kept Iggy and Kipper in town twice through their primes.
He was a good GM for a period, and then his team’s window closed. And then things went off the rails.

He probably closed the window a little faster but making the team older post 2004/2005 Lockout. But hindsight is 20/20. At the time it felt like a new era where the Flames the Oilers could acquire players Amonte or Pronger etc.
