A question conservative voters should probably start asking themselves is why they consistently reject intelligent potential leaders with a genuine chance at winning an election and why they proceed to ruin the ones with good potential who do squeak through.
PP and O’Toole both had a bit of charisma, humanity, and intelligence to them before they became leader. It was all promptly zapped out of them and we were left with toilet jokes and buzzword boy as they tried to cater to the dumbest and loudest amongst you. Charest would’ve been solid, but someone who could stream roll Trudeau? No, can’t have that, we want bitcoin instead and stories about wood growing on trees with props!
Both the Liberals and the NDP have more capable leaders and smarter voters. Given the circumstances and the overall quality of both being nothing to write home about, that should deeply embarrass the Conservative party and their supporters. This is your third shot at this and it looks a lot like you’ll need a fourth. Having meaningful competition and a good opposition is good for everyone in politics. Why can’t conservatives get it right?
