Totally agree that the team isn't going anywhere without an effective Huberdeau, but they also have a brilliant coach who can get results if his tactics stick. Its a bit of a stand off in philosophies right now.
Unfortunately Sutter and Huberdeau are clearly on different pages. I get the impression Huberdeau has the right attitude and is trying to do everything asked of him. But his powers are being restricted, and he looks like a pretty middling player.
The fact is this team isn't going to out defend any decent team in the playoffs, it wont happen. It isn't even happening now. Star players will get their goals and points, you can't completely shut them down, as we saw last year, and that's the modern NHL. Gamebreakers are what will win you playoff games and series'. You need those guys who will score or set up the big goals. The guy that is supposed to contribute to that for the Flames is Huberdeau, so I think you have to figure out way to unleash his abilities.
Sutter and Huberdeau need to just have lunch and hash it out, or one of them is going to go. It isn't working.
