This is an interesting thread.
I remember back in 04, lucky enough to go to every game that year (first year as a season ticket holder with 5 friends, couple years out of Uni), it was awesome. The loss (it was in btw) had me "almost" in a depression, miserable for months - and realized how stupid it was one random day to be that invested.
I moved to Toronto, and some friends there are huge Raptor fans (I don't like basketball at all) and watched the playoffs with them. They win, we cheer and drink - and the next day everything is back to normal. Had a conversation with one of the guys, like "how does it feel"? "No different" - he was happy they won, but nothing changes in your life.
Investing your time, energy, passion, emotion, well being etc. into something that gives you little to nothing in return is not worth it(comment for the original poster).
Try to enjoy the game again, and don't care so much about the wins.
