In fairness it would be ridiculous to expect to have extensive scouting reports on every single player in the NHL so you’re gonna have to go on some type of word of mouth and chances and points data from time to time. That’s just the reality of any business, sorry. When your star player comes in and says literally I will not sign with you, and you just got burned by your other star player lying to you that he will, and you have to make a huge high profile trade with extremely difficult negotiating position because this same guy will only go to like 4 teams?
Yeah I don’t blame them for not having extensive depth due diligence when the 115 pt player is offered up. Plus Weegar. Plus a first. Plus a great prospect.
Like, it makes sense let’s get real here. It made sense then and it still actually makes sense.
To me the biggest regret will end up being trading that 2nd first away plus Monahans expiring contract to get Kadri who has already won and was acting like a mercenary. Plain and simple. Kadri is not here to work. In the games he’s played so far I’ve seen more lazy than work. It’s very disappointing.
