i think the greatest reward from the games is how it has the power to bring the city together and create a sort of festive atmosphere for a while
since Calgary is a place that's in frequent need of that sort of comraderie on the streets, it's always great to see it happen when the Flames make a run
that's the bulk of what I miss, really
so the chance of that happening again is what I'm rooting for in the regular season
games with a lot of drama and comebacks are exciting, but these days that's hardly every game, that's once in a batch of games
with the game getting softer and heated rivalries simmering out, the games less and less live up to the hype of them
its becoming less rational to be as invested as we are given the quality of the product nowadays
with uneven, unpredictable officiating it also screws with the organic progression of the games
media swooning over players and pushing storylines rather than just evaluating the games as they have unfolded also makes sitting through them less appealing
and now betting ads
sports, or at least the nhl, should be easier than ever to not take seriously
