OK so the whole "I'm aware of my prejudices" thing only works if you're going to follow it with something other than "and I'm pretty okay with them on the whole".
Being consciously prejudiced isn't actually better than being unaware of it, necessarily... For example, and not that I'm suggesting you're a KKK member or anything, but they are also very aware of their own suspicions of the races they're suspicious of and happy to share their "take" on it, but their lack of naivete and openness in that area is not something they should be getting credit for.
