True but Star Wars always seems to focus around two key hero's journey themes. One is redemption, and the other is the heroic sacrifice. So it just makes sense.

I mean going on the whole idea that there are no clones by the time of ANH at least in the Imperial Military that the Clones, the Bad Batch and Crosshair have to die. So having an Empire versus rebelling Clones scenario makes ultimate sense.

Originally I would say that having some survive would be Star Wars with its theme of hope, but Rogue One and its ending says differently to me.

Right now Crosshair isn't a true villain. He does some pretty crappy things in the name of following orders, not his belief that they are the right orders, and that kind of makes things worse for Crosshair. He knows that the Empire isn't right, but chooses to follow that path. So what's going to change that? I'm pretty sure that the murder of Wilco who was murdered for being a good soldier would not sit right with him.

So it puts him in an interesting position if the Empire has their own version of Order 66 for the Clones, and it has to be there because Palpatine up until the ST was the ultimate planner.

The only thing that gives hope that the Batch really survives this is the survival of Cody, Gregor and Wolffe who sidestepped the war.

I think the only other Clones that we can look at as survivors were the original Dark Trooper phase 0 who used Clone brains and cybernetics.

Star Wars will stick to a certain formula. Redemption and Hope, so yeah I believe that at the very very end Crosshair will be confronted with orders versus doing the right thing and willingly sacrfice himself to save his brothers.

I almost hope that the Batch do die out, sadly, because the idea of slaughtering a child would be distastful. But if the Batch survives their own series it puts questions into for example the Rebels series.
