I’d argue that the lowest common denominator needs to improve. If learning a simple, better, circular intersection is how we drag their brains forward, then so be it.

Roundabouts are still safer than perpendicular intersections, which come with plenty of their own downsides, including higher rates of serious injury. If someone struggles at a simple roundabout (just yield - that’s it!), then they’re also going to struggle at other simple procedures like yielding, merging, lane changing, and regular intersections.

I am doing my part every time I drive a roundabout. My horn is primed and ready to educate.
