Because the silent majority are busy working or looking at them and saying "No, I don't have time for this stupid nonsense" while the crazy uncles are railing against SoCiAlIsM on social media.
Seriously, LinkedIn's feed especially has regrettably become a cesspool of everybody's dad or grandpa posting political memes and really cringey, ill-advised comments on things that are publicly viewable. I've been paring down connections if they're actively participating in that sort of crap, and any political figure I just mute so I don't have to deal with the cancer in the comments.
