That would require people to bloody
use them. The entrance to our neighbourhood is basically lined with parked cars because using your garage to store your vehicle -- of which EVERYBODY IN THIS NEIGHBOURHOOD HAS -- is uncool compared to jamming it full of useless sh-t and parking on the street. Anyway, this lining the street with parked cars means that the approach to the pedestrian crossing is obscured until you're almost right on top of it. And these lazy sh-ts, young and old, won't take the 1/3rd of a second it takes to tap the damn signal on approach and warn people that they're at the crossing.
