There is no way you can tell me Tkachuk is an upgrade on what Huberdeau/Weegar did for them last season...did you even watch them last year? Huberdeau was their leading scorer by a mile.
They will probably be 30 points worse this season...its not all the coach.
Huberdeau set an all time assists record there last year for a LW...ALL TIME! He had more primary assists than McDavid, I think you are downplaying how good he was there based on his year in Calgary thus far.

any player that sets an all time assists/goals/points record for a player at his position obvious has something to bring to the table
it's virtually impossible to fluke your way into something like that
I think most are of the mind that huberdeau will settle back into his former ways next season, and is basically building himself back up to that this season in his new surroundings. it could also help not having a grinder on his opposite wing full time (as good a few games as looch has put together in the recent stretch).
I think the fact that Tkachuk was looking for the change, while Huberdeau had the change unexpectedly thrust upon him absolutely plays a role
probably a lot of mixed feelings suddenly getting shipped up here after his whole career in FLA. Tkachuk had moved on already. don't think there were any mental blocks for him
