this is a tricky one for me, I hate him the burning passion of 1000 suns, but also acknowledge he is a unique offensive talent , playing in a situation that help magnify his already incredible talents
yet those projections of even 4 50 goal seasons are interesting. 14 players in NHL history have 4 or more 50 goal seasons. he's clearly more talented that several of the guys on the list, no doubt, but of those all of those save 3 (Brett Hull, Phil Esposito and Dionne) had managed their first one prior to age 25, and yet McDavid starting out of the gate at 18 has not yet- history would suggest its unlikely then- Dionne might be the closest parallel (Espo different eras and offensive explosion league wide post expansion, Hull a late start to the NHL)
Stamkos scored 51 at 20 and 60 at 22 and hasn't done it since. scoring 50 takes a lot of things to go right (admittedly injuries and lockouts and things are all random, but they are things)
