As a player I would find it hard to believe in a coach that's going to pull the chute on everyone in the locker room when things go bad. Things will work out great for him though as he can bide his time the TV thing while floating his name out there annually for potential gigs much like Gruden did as over time people only remember the Super Bowl win and forget about the way things ended after. I think he's a good head coach but I think he's more Jon Gruden than Bill Belichick when it comes to Super Bowl winning coaches.

The other similarity between Gruden and McVay is you could argue that both needed a lot of luck to win their Super Bowl. Gruden's Bucs took advantage of Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb choking the NFC championship away, and then lucking out when the Raiders had all that weirdness around them in the Super Bowl. Not to mention the Bucs basically defense being able to basically call out every play the Raiders offense ran because Bill Callahan was an idiot.
On the other side, if the Bucs don't blow their coverage on Kupp in the NFC championship game, McVay doesn't get a sniff at the Super Bowl last year.
