I got caught up in the hype without having seen him play much. Saw that 115 point number and then read all the "Are the Flames actually better?" articles. Huge disappointment.

It's the Flames' way, isn't it? Win the off-season sweepstakes, only to #### the bed when the game are played during the season. Goes back many years this pattern.
Win the JayBo sweepstakes. Big woof.
Win the Neal sweepstakes. Yikes.
Win the Hamonic sweepstakes. Gross.
Win the Huberdeau trade. Yuck (as of now).
Obviously some good outliers like the Hamilton trade, then the Lindholm/Hanifin trades. But more often then not, seems like every time we "win" the off-season, this happens. It's like clockwork with this team, and it's hilarious yet sad.
Seems like it's the off-seasons where we fly under the radar and only make minor moves that the team puts it together.
I'm just rambling at this point. But 2 very disappointing losses in a row to teams we should have spanked don't give much faith going forward.
