OK's skillset isn't ideal for this, but I don't see why he couldn't be a 7th/8th D-man heading into the playoffs if he isn't able to come back until March. It's probably hard to manage those expectations (and if he seizes a full-time slot so be it), but why not treat him as a free TDL acquisition?

Yeah, Flames getting him back is like trading for D depth at the deadline. The decision point will close at that time.
