We've lost a lot of AC service in what looks very much like a quid pro quo for Westjet pulling out of YYZ/YVR.

I have preferentially flown Westjet for the last few years after AC diluted the status I could qualify down to irrelevance. But having the AC non-stop options was really nice as both a backup and for competition/pricing reasons.

I think Calgary flyers are going to end up as hub captives. That has pros and cons - we aren't getting the same number of flights (Europe, Japan, 787 to PVR, etc) any other way, but are likely to end up paying higher prices as a result.
