Flames seem to be quite comfortable playing 5 on 5 one goal games, you know, the stuff that actually happens in the playoffs.
People put way too much stock in what happens in overtime/shootout. It's a tiebreaking scenario that really isn't real hockey. It obviously sucks to lose this many but it's not indicative of some bigger problem that people are determined to make a thing.

Yeah the abnormal OT record actually likely is deflating their position right now
Flames are 3-8 in OT/SO. Knights are 8-2. Kings are 7-6. Kraken 4-4.
Meaning that in regulation games the Flames are 16-14, while the Knights are 19-13, Kings are 16-14 and Kraken are 18-12.
Really the poor OT record is the difference between being in one of the division playoff spots and not right now.
