Regular season is a points league, not a win league. They got half of what they came for, but people act like they got nothing.
Yes it sucks to not get both against a trash team, but the point keeps them secure in a playoff spot tonight, tomorrow(no matter what happens) and they will play again on Tuesday in a playoff spot.
Take the point, be happy there were plenty of good things done and move onto Tuesday.
Dwelling on the past or thinking that losing in overtime is some kind of indication that that will amount to playoff failure seems awfully silly to me.

The team has lost 22 games and only won 19. They’re not showing anything that should have anyone believing that they’re built for the playoffs.
Do they have the goaltending to win a series? No. The goaltending certainly isn’t showing that. Also, the last playoff series this #1 goalie was in - he more or less lost it for the team.
Do they have special teams that can win a series? Nope. Bottom of the league PP.
Are they incredible defensively or offensively? 22nd in GF/GP and 14th in GA/GP.
Also, this franchise has put its fans through plenty of years of being a bubble team where all we have to hope for is magically putting together something in the playoffs and it never happens. We got 1989, and then we got a big L in 2004. Nothing in between, and nothing since - so it only makes sense that fans are down on the team in a mediocre season like this, and after dropping a game to a team like that.
Being critical of those who are critical makes little sense to me. They have the larger data set to show that this team generally doesn’t make the right decisions. Those people who are being critical are also some of the loudest when given a reason to celebrate. When a fan base has endured as much losing as this one has, those fans will always be a bit quicker to trash poor performances.
