Wild, wild stuff. Whats really crazy is in the interviews with the Capitol police officers who were defending the Capitol how close it came to a complete disaster. Moreso than it already was.
In one interview an officer said that he and his fellow officers were at the end of their ropes and just decided that they didnt want to die in that hallway and if it came to shooting their way out they were 3-5 minutes away from just running out guns blazing.
Fully acknowledging that if they did that the crowd would fire back with their own guns and the whole scenario turns into an absolute blood bath, but the officers had just been pushed to their absolute limits.
And then the Virginia National Guard showed up and it was like a gulp of fresh air to a drowning man.
But it was close. Closer than most people realize.
Look at the number of officers who committed suicide days afterwards from PTSD.
Those officers were pushed to the absolute edge. And then over it. And there are a lot of people in positions of power who should be goddamned ashamed.
