The Flames' PP, under Gaudreau and Tkachuk, was far from great for most of their tenure. Last year they were good, but it took time.
This year, 3 of the 5 guys on PP1 were not there last year (Toffoli was added mid-season). I think it is far more likely to be a problem of familiarity than it is a problem of talent. I don't think these guys have suddenly forgotten how to hockey.

I wonder if the righty lefty plays are a part in it. Prior to Toffoli it was all left hand shots with just Lindholm and Andersson.
I'm not sure if this is accurate but it seems like a lot of the top units have more left shots?
